For the love of the game and for the welfare of the young underprivileged children, Balakalakaar hosted Sports for a Cause in association with Premier India Football Association (PIFA) on 15th December 2012 at JCBN School, Parel, Mumbai.
AIESEC has always believed in enhancing each person’s skill as well as constantly learn through the journey of life. It wouldn’t be wrong to state that more than half of the youth believes that Football is life.
Although, cricket is more popular in India, football is finally showing its growth and is being promoted widely at every given opportunity. This is one of the reasons the game for sports for a cause was decided to be football.
The objective of this event was to just engage and entertain the youth and create a platform for interaction via the game between children and the youth of the city.
There were approximately four teams from the AIESEC Mumbai team which played against two teams from PIFA.
PIFA had openly challenged that their kids can beat any team or any number of teams.
The game was played on the beautifully designed astro turf of the school, although without studs.
Balakalakaar had impact workshops throughout the week, simultaneously at three different BMC Schools in Mumbai.
The finale is scheduled on the 20th of December where more than 100 kids will be provided with scholarship.
